Dalloway & Ramsey

There is a tangible perception of an outer, self-controlled persona with
it’s inner, intuitive yet uncontrolled thoughts.

Originating from the pages of the novelist Virginia Woolf; these unassuming and enfolded sculptures invite a spatial awareness in which to consider the absent, presence of a body.

The principal character of Mrs Dalloway, obsessed to conform and fit into her world, now middle aged, Mrs Dalloway wants to
be wrapped and unchallenged.  Yet is troubled as she reflects
and questions what is life’s true meaning and wither happiness
is truly possible.

Mrs Ramsey from To a Lighthouse, is a husk of traditional femininity and materiality, who aims to create a peaceful environment, even if it is only temporary and reinforces gender roles.  A source of ethereal light till her death, she believed men due to their role of authority were in need of constant reassurance, which women could and should provide.
