Using the confines of a cabin in a tucked away location on the University of the Creative Art's campus, Lorrain sort to create an environment that reflected the intense complexity ‘contained’ in a person when dealing with anxiety, overload or trauma.
Over the course of a week, the cabin became an installation. Visitors were invited one at a time to enter the space and experience an altered interior, containing sheets of reflective film. There they were able to question their own perception, boundaries and stability in an optically expanded, mirrored and distorted space. It challenged whether a shift in vision could lead to insecurity and doubt. |
This exploration does not seek to expose or single out anyone suffering from anxiety, as it is a ‘given’ and natural that everyone at one point or another has experienced feeling low and are therefore able to relate to this perception.
