Invited by Jane Cordery to exhibit in the window of the Horsebridge Gallery, Whitstable September 2021 as a memorial to all those who passed away during 2020-21.
It was particularly pertinent to me as I lost both my brothers in 2021, not to Covid but to cancer and Jane her husband.
The sellotape husks where painted with plaster of paris stuck and to the window but over the course of time and from the heat of the sun, the houses slowly slipped down the window pane before tumbling to the ground, where the plaster shattered and broke into dust. While the eternal sellotape collapsed inwards, exhaling the void.
Tomb like the work contrasted with the vibrant, blood pulsing community living in Dylan Thomas' Under Milkwood with all the drama that had resembled my childhood home and memories.
