Three Seasons
Winter - Water like a Stone
Spring comes after Winter, even Death
It orginated from a challenge set by Craig Newman to make a piece of art from the tutt he had from his father’s workshop, within an hour. The corroded sheet of metal, took 30 minutes to polish back to steel, then gently bent to formulate a foetus which then was wrapped in scraps of linen. There is a strong biblical and pagan reference through the process of making. A way of untangling thoughts and meaning within our time frame. The cyclical event of birth to death to life, is like the inhaling and exhaling of breath, where every particle folds into another life or death. This develophed into an ongoing community activity, to convey through participation the cyclical process of life as a way to encourage hope in a year of covid on a private Instagram platform. Other works have been completed to mark Remberance and civilian migration due to war. |
