Winter Sculpture Park 2025 - NO. 32

​ I will Huff & I will Puff  is a gleaming tiny house hoisted up on three steal legs that plunge and screw into the ground.  The elevated cube is smothered with compact discs that cascade down from the pitched roof and over all four sides.  Not a window or a door can be seen.  Yet there is a tempting opening, if you are prepared to duck down and under the base, to look within.
 
Arched like a vaulted ceiling is a snap shot of the forty years lifecycle of the compact disc.  Once prolific now this man-made material that has outlived its use and consigned to landfill where it will take trillions of years to disintegrate before re-entering the biosystem.
 
A material that can be reappropiated within the building industry.  Water resistant, durable and available they could replace slate and brick tiles while reflecting heat out of buildings.  While the steal legs would allow the build to withstand rising water levels and strong winds.
 
The work has an aesthetic quality with its multi coloured chrome surfaces reflecting the constantly changing landscape, swirling sky, and yourself.  A performance, with you as the lead character confronted with the reality of the human story and the opportunity to draw your own conclusions.
