Alter

Everything changes over time. Everything dissolves, wears down, or is incorporated by something else eventually.  Our bodies also change, particularly since the late twentieth century due to the plastic we consume.

Plastic particles are now detectable in all major organs, including a baby's umbilical cord, men's sperm, and breast milk. Daily, we absorb tiny plastic particles from components, milk cartons, and food packaging.  Reusing recyclable milk cartons or using commercial recycled plastic may pose additional risks to our digestive system.  We ingest approximately an amount of plastic equivalent to a credit card each day, a contemporary form of mummification with this plastic passing onto the next generation, along with potential medical issues.

Plastic, made from fossil fuels derived from ancient sea materials under high pressure and temperature, will take millennia to biodegrade, much like how buildings erode back into sand.
